About

The book has been printed in several editions since May 1994 and an up-dated Millennium Edition is now available for the cricket season in 2001 and beyond.

The book is the first of its kind for scorers and covers all the detail of conventional scoring practice. It includes details of the Laws of Cricket as they concern scorers as amended and reissued by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 2000 after worldwide consultation - and other useful information and illustrations. A Preamble on The Spirit of Cricket as published by the MCC for the first time in the Code of The Laws of Cricket is reproduced in full.

Part 1 of the book covers recruitment and training of scorers and pre-match preparation.

Part 2 gives the details of the Laws of Cricket, which are relevant to the duties of a scorer.

Part 3 deals with the Principles and Practice of scoring with summaries on particular aspects.

The Appendices include a Match record with an analysis of the progress of the Match.

The detailed Index enables any query to be answered by immediate reference to the relevant page of the section of the book concerned.

CRICKET SCORING is a book for scorers - to recruit them, to give them recognition, to improve their status and to provide them with a manual of their own.
